Orangut's User Privacy and Confidentiality Statement
Welcome to Orangut!

While you can browse through all the available subrooms and events on Orangut, you’ll have to register with us to be able to participate or make submissions in them. Any information provided by an Orangut account owner is kept on secure servers and shall not be disclosed to any unauthorized party without the account owner’s consent.

We at Orangut understand that any file, paper, assignment or case-study submitted using an Orangut account in a subroom is owned by the owner of that account. Orangut shall not claim any rights on any submission nor will it provide access of the same to any unauthorized party. Note that the “legal organizers” of subrooms are usually authorized to view and review submissions made in subrooms and conferences that they organize and manage. If you are concerned about a particular organizer viewing or reviewing your work, then we would suggest you not to make a submission in a subroom being organized or managed by that person. On the other hand, if you are reviewing submissions made by others on Orangut as a reviewer, organizer or by getting authorization through another means, you must respect and uphold the submitter’s ownership rights. Orangut will also not be responsible for any plagiarism or legal allegations on submissions made by users on Orangut's servers. Having said this, if a need arises to share one or more users’ personal information in the interest of the Orangut community, we shall not do it without the account owner’s consent.

Please keep the password of your Orangut account a secret as any activity under your account shall be assumed to be carried out by you or with your consent. Your activity on Orangut may be logged on our servers for purposes of monitoring and improving system performance. However, be rest assured that none of this information will be given to anyone outside the realm of what it is intended for. When you visit our website, we may also store some data onto your computer in the form of "cookies" to automatically recognize your PC the next time you visit Orangut. Cookies help us tailor and customize a webpage to better suit your preferences or to store your password to save you from re-entering it each time. You can, at will, customize your browser to erase or block all cookies or to receive a warning before a cookie is stored.

Some facilities on Orangut may require you to make a payment using your credit card or through other online payment modes. All such transactions shall be secured via the SSL protocol, an industry standard encryption to protect data. You shall be sent confirmation emails for all such transactions in the email account that you registered with Orangut.

We reserve the rights to amend this privacy statement as and when our systems and policies change. You shall be notified of all major changes made to this statement with a request to re-approve its latest version so that you can continue using Orangut like before.

Enjoy the new way of participation and management!
